Severn Aust Foreshore
I have always wanted to photograph the two bridges at the Severn estuary. Having crossed them on many occasions their structural design is imposing. One weekend that opportunity arose when I found myself with time to spare on the Bristol side, however the weather (therefore the lighting) might have been more favourable.
This photograph is taken on the foreshore underneath the original bridge near Aust. The sky is overcast giving a flat dull light however a short burst of brighter weather illuminated the bridge structure making it stand out somewhat from the sky. The grass and wooden breakers in the foreground add some interest and depth.
I will return here to capture this scene in a different light.
